Building Vinyl Swimming Pools Advice For Deisgn And Landscaping

If you want to save money, sometimes up to $15,000-20,000, choose vinyl swimming pools for your yard. The frame is made of concrete, polymer, aluminum or steel, and then it is lined with a PVC lining. This lining can be chosen in a variety colors and thicknesses, but it is susceptible to damage, wear and tear and color fading, so it will need to be replaced over time.

The water pressure in the pool is also what keeps the liner in place, so it is not easy or recommended to drain the pool. This option however, is one of the cheapest options in inground pools, so if you want to create a beautiful space without going over the budget, a vinyl swimming pool is the right choice for you.

Design

Vinyl Swimming Pools

It is less likely to be able to design a custom vinyl swimming pool since they usually come in general sizes and shapes. It is possible however, just for a much higher cost. You can however, add little touches to make the design yours. Some people decide to put a foam layer below the lining to add cushion and padding.

There is also the advantage of switching up the look of your pool every time you need to change the liner; opting for different colors and patterns to make it feel like it was remodeled. If however, you prefer not to have to change a liner and want something that is easy to maintain, a fibreglass pool may be a more appropriate solution, but it is more expensive.

With vinyl pools though, you can also take advantage of water features, free form sculptures, waterfalls and steps, so wanting these additional elements should not deter you from choosing vinyl. They may be built differently, but they can be done.

Exterior Landscaping

In the past, it was customary to have a plastic edge around a vinyl pool, but today, you can take advantage of the same coping options as a concrete pool, giving your landscaping around the pool the same elegant appeal. You can even incorporate retaining walls behind the pool as part of the structure and create a type of water effect from it. The only difference in vinyl is your restriction in using pool tiles and the shapes you can choose, otherwise, you can have exactly the look you want but much cheaper.

Building vinyl swimming pools is a great way to save money without sacrificing style. You will still have customizable options and can add the features you want, so why not cut the budget at the same time?
